The more I study history, the more disgusted I am at how things haven’t changed in the last two and a half millennia. Everything that they did wrong then, we’ve done again: bloated bureaucracy, corrupt politics, biased courts; xenophobia, sexism, ideological violence. The purpose of recording history is to learn from those who came before us. To not have to suffer the same things and make the same mistakes. And look at us.
